KAUAI

As I stated in my last post, Childish Gambino was to release the second half of his two part project soon. Well, the day has come. KAUAI is officially available on iTunes as of today! And I’m sure others are anxious, much like myself, to what Jaden Smith’s role is throughout this project..right?
In addition, I’d like to refer to my last post where I said my prediction was the STN MTN would be realised on a Thursday. Coincidentally, I was correct and his mixtape was indeed released two days ago. However, just to throw out another prediction, I chose a Saturday for the iTunes release. Who would’ve thunk that I would be spot on with the second day? Lol
Anyway, head over to iTunes, download the album, then come back here and tell me what you think about STN MTN/KAUAI.

STN MTN: KAUAI COMING SOON.

Welp, there you  have it! Childish Gambino finally decided drop the first part of his Mixtape/EP project, STN MTN/KAUAI.

And much like STN MTN, there has yet to be a date announced for the release of KAUAI, but what we do know is that it will be sold on iTunes.

ps. I just want to go on record and say that about 5 days ago I predicted the first half of the project will drop on a random Thursday… and would you look at that!! So now, I want to predict that KAUAI will drop on a Saturday – which I may be wrong ’cause I just don’t have that kind of luck lol. But you can download the mixtape below and then come back here and tell me if you’re feelin’ it.

Download STN MNT here.

SZA: Julia/Tender

The ever so talented and gorgeous SZA just released the official video (via youtube/twitter) for her song Julia and threw in a nice little treat at the end titled Tender.  If you have never heard of her or listened to her music, I suggest you do so. She’s released several projects and all live up to the TDE stamp of lyrical content. In the meantime, watch her newest video and let me know what you think!

Powerful…period.

Never have I heard a natural phenomenon discussed in such an eloquent way that it sent chills through my body.

A woman’s monthly cycle is not something to be ashamed of or shamed for.  This poet sends such a POWERFUL message to women…and men, in fact. She spills her emotion-filled words hoping to encourage her daughter to embrace herself and discourage men from acting as if this is something women have chosen to partake in. Trust me guys, I’m speaking for most – if not all- women when I say if we could do away with this monthly “visit”, WE WOULD!

So my challenge to you, my readers, is to not only watch this video but share it with men and women because this is just one of the many things women are foolishly shamed for by our male counterparts.

My Decision Has Been Made.

Depending on the artist, it tends take me a while to decide if I really enjoy their style and am willing to invest money in their music.

The artist currently in the center of my debate is Sam Smith. He has a very unique voice and, from what I’ve heard so far, pretty great songs but I continuously wonder if I can see myself driving around to his album, for I listen to most of my music while driving around town. Needless to say, after this Whitney Houston “How Will I Know” cover, I’ve made my decision…
